Found this at a wine store in Stirling, NJ and thought why not... I was curious to see how it compares with the Lindemans Lambic Framboise (which by the way is yummy).
Final review - it is yummy as well. The strawberry flavor isn't overpowering and it's not too sweet. The flavor is subtle... well... more than subtle. You can smell the strawberry immediately after popping the cap. You can also taste a slight hint of beer. Compared to Lindemans Lambic, this ale is less sweet but fruitier. If you aren't a big beer lover but want something ale-related and something fruity, I would pick this. It's organic too, so you can't go wrong there, especially if you're trying to be on the healthy side. Price I paid = $5.49 for a 550 mL bottle.
I also bought a raspberry flavor one but have yet to drink it. Perhaps that'll be my next post. :-)
Hmmm... I remain a little suspicious about this trend to "fruitify" beer... Blue Moon + orange... Bud + lime... idk Lilly, but I'm just not wrapping my head around the whole "beer + ___" thing... unless it "beer + ...another bottle of beer!" ;)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, since it's your mission here to boldly go into new taste experiences... I say brava, God speed, and I look forward to reading about your adventures...
